This ongoing series explores the photogram as direct, indexical process in which light registers the physical presence of objects on light sensitive paper. Most of these works are created with botanical specimens and include lumen prints, hand coated silver-iron prints and layered exposures. Many are further developed with water color, double coatings, copper and silver leaf, and other mixed media. Through experimentation with light, complex chemistry and hand applied materials, each work emphasizes the tactile qualities of the photographic object while preserving the ephemeral of its making.
