Navid is an artist and educator currently based in Boston. He holds an MFA in photography from Massachusetts College of Art and Design. He was a multi-year recipient of Dean’s scholarship and teaching fellowships from MassArt and as a Visiting Artist at Institute of Contemporary Art(ICA) and MIT, Boston, MA. He also taught as a Teaching Assistant in Harvard’s Department of Art, Film and Visual Studies. Navid is currently an Artist in Residence at Boston Center for the Arts.
His work has been exhibited nationally and internationally, including FOTOHOF Gallery, Salzburg, Austria, Photographic Resource Center, Boston, MA, Attleboro Art Museum, MA, Raskolnikov Gallery, Germany, Atlantic Wharf Gallery, Boston, MA, SYNC Gallery, Denver, CO, Plymouth Center for the Arts, Plymouth, MA and South Shore Art Center. He works primarily with photography and printmaking, engaging with traditional darkroom methods and experimental printing techniques. His practice often incorporates collage, photomontage, and the use of the archive to explore the ideas of past and present identities, disappearance, solitude and connection.
